Formerly an industrial district bombed to smithereens during the war, the QT8 district blossomed into a new suburban neighborhood to supply those displaced during the invasion with new homes. But rather than dropping into the angst of a cultural wasteland composed of green lawns and stifling bourgeois values or becoming a ghetto cut off from the life of the city, QT8 has emerged as a viable solution to unplanned urban overexpansion.
